Relief of back pain

Back pain can stem from a number of causes and can sometimes be a symptom or even a cause of a larger problem.

Possible causes include:

  • Damage to ligaments, tendons and muscles from an accident, incorrect form when lifting, bending or overuse
  • A compressed or prolapsed disc
  • Vertebral joint problems associated with arthritic conditions causing structural changes
  • Disc degeneration caused by heavy lifting, twisting or bending
  • Anxiety or stress-induced muscle spasms.
Some causative lower back problems can affect nerve pathways that innervate the legs. This can lead to sciatic pain in the buttocks area, extending to the groin region and can cause a feeling of weakness, pain and instability.

To be able to help you, we will assess the cause of the problem and then, using acupuncture, massage, electronic stimulation and specific stretching techniques, or combinations of these treatments, we can work to help bring you relief from back pain. More information of treatment methods can be found on our services page.
